Serta SmartREACT Lynbrook 14” Plush Mattress

Serta SmartREACT Lynbrook 14” Plush Mattress

Overview: The Serta SmartREACT Lynbrook 14” Plush Mattress is an innerspring mattress with plush memory foam inside of which is Serta’s proprietary micro support gel.

Product Features

The mattress comes with the inclusion of several CertiPUR-US approved foams. Serta’s trademark pillow-soft foam quilt layer is a standard for virtually every model so also is its custom wrapped innerspring coils.

Serta’s SmartREACT Lynbrook 14” performs outstandingly well on the front of comfort and pressure relief all thanks to the inclusion of different foams as comfort layers on top of the traditional innerspring design.

Preliminary testing indicates that this mattress, for the most part, slept cool, thanks to its gel memory foam construction.

Thanks to the CoolReaction™ Gel Memory Foam, this mattress has optimal bounce and responsiveness and will not disappoint. If you’re looking for a great mattress for sex, this mattress is an excellent choice.

Support in this SmartREACT Lynbrook 14” is quite exceptional, so there should be no issues with the support.

Who is it suitable for?

This mattress’ comfort level is plush – safe to say that the mattress will cater for side sleepers best. Buyers who intend to use this mattress with their partners are also in luck, as there is virtually no form of motion transfer.

Finally, it is pretty easy to guess that this SmartREACT Lynbrook 14” would be durable given its apparent robust and detailed build. While there’s bound to be bits of sagging over time, expect these mattresses to stand the test of time.

What sets it apart from the rest?

Serta does manage to fulfill most of its promises with this model, with no shortfalls. That said, if you’re looking for a mattress that delivers great value at a competitive price; then, by all means, consider Serta SmartREACT Lynbrook 14”.

  • Excellent pressure relief
  • CertiPUR-US approved foams
  • Minimal motion transfer
  • Ideal for side sleepers
  • Great for couples
  • Supportive and comforting
  • Perhaps too soft for stomach and back sleepers

Simmons Beautyrest Black Memory Foam with BlackICE™ Kelsie 12.5″ Luxury Firm Mattress

Simmons Beautyrest Black Memory Foam with BlackICE™ Kelsie 12.5" Luxury Firm Mattress

Overview: The Simmons Beautyrest Black Series is the crème de la crème category of the Simmons Beautyrest mattress line up; of the mattresses making up this group, the Black memory foam is one of the most impressive.

Product Features

Crafted from luxurious and silky materials, Simmons Beautyrest intended for this mattress to be the perfect definition of luxury. You get a feel of the Black Memory Foam’s luxuriousness right from its exterior; the mattress cover is infused with what Simmons Beautyrest is calling BlackICE technology, exclusive only to the Simmons Black series.

Underneath the mattress cover is 5.5-inch comfort layer comprised of: A 1-inch BlackICE HD memory foam, a 3-inch Aircool memory foam and a 1.5-inch energy foam. Underneath the comfort layer, is Simmons’ 7 inch Beautyrest Black support system.

Who is it suitable for?

For the most part, the impressive spec sheet of Black Memory Foam translates to an impressive performance in the bedroom. Very few mattresses can match the comfort levels of this mattress; its dual memory foam layers effectively contours around the sleeper body ensuring proper spinal alignment and posture. The hug is minimal, just the right amount to cushion you into the mattress without creating that sinking feeling. That said, it makes an ideal solution for stomach sleepers as it is luxury firm and provides just the right amount of support.

Motion transfer as is expected for a memory foam of its class is almost non-existent; which is great news for individuals looking to share the bed with a partner. Bounce (the right kind) and responsiveness are off the charts with this mattress – if you’re looking for a mattress to get sexually active, the Black Memory Foam has a kink for you.

What sets it apart from the rest?

The mattress’s warranty and the trial period is the industry’s standard of 10 years, but we seriously doubt you’d ever need it.  Apart from being expertly and delicately manufactured, the Black Memory Foam is arguably one of the most durable mattresses we’ve reviewed so far.

The only real complaint about this mattress is its price; It is far from a budget mattress. If you, however, have that a robust budget, then whatever your sleeping needs are, the Black Memory Foam is more than capable of attending to them.

With its luxurious design comes it’s more than luxurious price; starting at $1,899 the mattress is one of the most expensive Simmons Beautyrest out there.

  • Sleeps really cool thanks to the special memory foam used
  • Has a luxurious feel and outlook

Hampton and Rhodes HR 500

Hampton and Rhodes HR 500

Overview: The HR 500 is a budget mattress from the famous Hampton and Rose brand, known for it’s quality and service delivery. Instead of using conventional polyurethane, formaldehyde and other petroleum-derived chemicals, Hampton and Rhodes has opted for an all soy-based build – on paper this should cut down the incidence of off-gassing, an issue of concern for many buyers of memory foams.

Product Features

The Hampton and Rhodes HR 500 mattress is a traditional memory foam mattress infused with a cooling gel. The mattress is comprised of five layers measuring 11 inches in all. The first layer is a 2.5-inch memory foam layer infused with cooling gel to help dissipate heat.

One thin layer of plush soy-based quilt foam lies underneath this layer to add redundancy to the comfortability of this mattress. Backing this up is yet another layer made out of soy-based quilt foam. Finally, a high-density support foam is incorporated to bear the load of the other layers and sleeper.

The Hampton and Rose HR500 does exactly what any mattress in the 600 dollar range would do – provide a good sleeping experience that is not necessarily exceptional nor downright substandard. The 2.5-inch memory foam layer and custom quilt soy-based comfort layer deliver a pleasant sleeping experience.

Hampton and Rose’s inclusion of a gel infusion on paper should improve the HR 500’s performance in terms of temperature control and heat dissipation. However, consumer reviews have noted slight heat build-up during sleep sessions.

Who is it suitable for?

On a firmness scale of one to ten where one is overly soft and ten is rock solid the Hampton and Rhodes HR500 comes in at 6 – implying that this mattress is more of a medium-firm variant.

This specification should fit the sleeping needs of light to middleweight, side and back sleepers. Hug and sinkage are very low on this mattress so ideally, it should also cater for individuals suffering from back pain.

On the front of motion transfer, the mattress does an excellent job of isolating all movements and vibrations – so good news for individuals who are planning to share this bed with another person.

Pressure relief in the HR 500 is also relatively good; the HR 500 will effectively contour around the body of the sleeper to allow for better spinal alignment. While it’s pressure relief system pales in comparison to that provided by the much more expensive brands, suffice it to say that it justifies that HR 500 cost

What makes it stand out from the rest?

The Hampton and Rhodes HR500 is a mattress that delivers optimal quality at a very competitive price point. Although there have been a few unpleasant notes in terms of its durability in customer reviews,  the mattress does offer real value for money.

If you are searching for a budget mattress that sleeps relatively cool and accommodates the needs of side and back sleepers then, by all means, consider the Hampton and Rhodes HR500.

  • A hypoallergenic and eco-friendly solution
  • Provides above average Visco Gel support
  • Promotes minimal motion transfer
  • CertiPUR-US approved foams
  • Affordable and amazing value for money
  • This is not a luxurious mattress
  • Not ideal for stomach sleepers
  • Not as durable

The support layers function as the base and foundation on which the mattress rests.

Motion isolation and pressure relief in this mattress are outstanding for its price – you can share this mattress with your partner without fear of interrupting their sleep with your movement. Dream Bed Essential 8-inch Dream Mattress

Dream Bed Essential 8-inch Dream Mattress

Overview: The Dream Bed Essential 8-inch Dream mattress promises a more than pleasurable, sweet dreams filled night rest – without any nightmares. The mattress made with traditional memory foam is only available for purchase online. You can, however, have a feel of the mattress at select mattress firm showrooms spread out in the US.

Product Features

The Essential 8-inch mattress is a memory foam mattress featuring Dream Bed’s air memory foam, which is basically a memory foam with more air spaces to allow for breathability – something memory foams so direly need.

Underneath the memory foam is a 4-inch high-density soft Visco Foam. This is the base and support layer of the Essential dream mattress. Together with the Memory foam layer, the mattress measures 8 inches in height.

The two foam measuring 8 inches in length are encased in the mattress cover which is fashioned from woven fabric.

The Dream Bed mattress like its name rightly connotes, is an essential mattress, no gimmicky features, no custom patented technology, just plain old air memory foam atop a high-density base support layer. But suffice it to say that sometimes simplicity there is beauty in simplicity.

Who is it suitable for?

On the typical one to ten firmness scale, the Essential Dream Mattress scores 5, corresponding to a medium firmness mattress, a fitting category for side and back sleepers. The support system of the mattress is also commendable, but not up to that of the industry’s mattress heavyweight. If you’re a light or medium weight sleeper, you shouldn’t have any problems regardless.

As is with most memory foams, the Essential Dream Mattress features optimum comfort levels and efficient contouring.

Motion transfer though present was very minimal, so no real issues there also. The Dream mattress from all indications is also well built; the mattress cover is perfectly sewn, and the high-density support foam should, in theory, resist sagging and indentation.

One area of concern for the dream bed was on the front of sleeping cool given its memory foam composition. However, taking into consideration the air memory foam used in its construction heat retention shouldn’t be much of a problem. Bounce and responsiveness were pretty much industry standard, so if you’re looking for a new mattress for sex, The Essential Dream might come in handy.

Dream bed has included a 180 night trial period during which you can return the mattress for a full refund. Although no mention was made of warranty coverage on the product page on dream bed’s website, a warranty of at least ten years should be expected with this mattress.

What sets it apart?

At a starting price of $320, the Essential dream mattress is one hell of a bargain. The mattress does everything a compact mattress should do, and while you don’t get imported exotic covers, or six layers of patented comfort foam one thing is assured you get a good night sleep (with some sweet dreams too).

  • Good bounce and responsiveness
  • Provides above-average comfort and contouring
  • Good for back and side sleepers
  • Allows minimal motion transfer
  • 180 night trial period
  • Affordable and amazing value for money
  • This is not a luxurious mattress
  • Not the best option for stomach sleepers
  • Due to its thickness, not great for heavier sleepers
  • Perhaps not as durable

Classic Brands 9″ Madison Memory Foam Mattress

Classic Brands 9" Madison Memory Foam Mattress

Overview: Budget mattresses in most instances bear a compromise in quality to justify their relatively cheaper price points. However, once in a while a mattress brand unveils what seems to be a budget mattress on paper but packs the punch of heavyweight mattresses. This scenario best describes the Classic Brands 9 inch memory foam mattress; it’s a very cheap mattress that surprisingly packs premium features usually found in high-end brands.

Product Features

The Classic Brands Madison memory foam is a traditional memory foam mattress, comprised of two mattresses layer measuring 9 inches in height.

The first layer is a premium memory foam designed crafted to contour around the body of the sleeper while providing optimum comfort. The next layer is also the final layer. It is a base support layer that works to provide form and support to the mattress. The base layer of the Madison Memory foam mattress is also an excellent support base for back pain, not to mention its role in ensuring the durability of your mattress.

The mattress defies its spec sheet to produce a perfect sleeping experience, even better than some pricier mattress brands. Comfort was without doubt top notch. Contouring ability though present was subpar in comparison to the industry’s standard. This, however, does not take the shine of the Classic Brands Madison memory foam mattress.

On virtually every other category the mattress performed well, from bounce to responsiveness and even sleeping cool, which comes as a surprise given the memory foam’s lack of cooling gel and open cell architecture.

The mattress cover is dimple knit cover engineered to provide optimal breathability and heat dispersion.

Who is it suitable for?

The Classic Brands Madison memory foam is a slightly firm mattress that ranks six on a firmness scale where 10 is the hardest possible score. A rating of 6 means that this mattress suits average and plus-size sleepers better than lightweight sleepers.

The Classic Brands Madison memory foam is also very durable, at least for its price point, support from the base layer is also very much effective.  On purchase, the mattress is shipped compressed in a box. The mattress warranty is for ten years only.

This Classic Brands Madison Memory foam is more than a bargain, so do try it if you are on a budget.

What makes it stand out?

At a starting price of $489, one can only marvel at the performance of this mattress.

The mattress does exactly what a mattress should do, be comfortable and sleep cool. It circumvents the many premium features now present in the mattress industry today but still manages to deliver up to the heightened standard of the industry. Scattered across the internet are online reviews that do justice to the mattress’s quality.

What sets it apart from the rest?
